NJS Shinnenkai

We are pleased to invite you to The Norway-Japan Society’s traditional Shinnenkai or New Year Party on Wednesday 22nd January 2020.
Doors for the Shinnenkai open at 18:00 and we encourage all to arrive early as the event start 18:30 and ends 21:00. The location is Tokyo Daijingu Matsuya Salon (Yamato room 4th floor) at the heart of Tokyo near JR/Metro Iidabashi station. Please refer to the attached map for directions.
As usual there will be a buffet style dinner with delicious food and beverages. With the help of the NJS, the charge is JPY 5,000 for ordinary members, JPY6,000 for guests and JPY 3,500 for student members. The charge will be collected at the 4th floor entrance.
There will be music performances by Tsugaru Shamisen Player Momokusu Iwata of Shamisen Tokyo and chorus singing by NJS Singing Group. This time we will also have a special performance by Naomi Rubin. Naomi is 11 years old, and in the fifth grade of elementary school. She will play Arietta Opus 12 No. 1 by Greig and Sakura-Sakura by Kozaburo Y. Hirai. Naomi loves playing Grieg’s delicate, beautiful songs, and is very happy to have the opportunity to play for the New Year’s party.
