【Report】Idemitsu Museum of Arts Tour / 出光美術館ツアー

On August 28, The Norway-Japan Society held an art appreciation event at the Idemitsu Museum of Arts.

The event was attended by 25 people, including Charge d'Affaires, interim Ms. Aune, and Mr. Nishibayashi, former director of the Japanese Cultural Institute in Rome.

Ms. Aune, the Charge d'Affaires, spoke about the Japan-Norway cultural exchange, including the contributions of the Idemitsu Museum of Arts and Idemitsu Kosan in art. Idemitsu Museum of Arts has often held exhibitions of Munch's paintings. And Idemitsu Kosan contributed to the renovation of the Munch Museum and the recovery of the stolen Munch's "The Scream".

Ambassador Nishibayashi talked about the importance of the government but also the private sector in promoting Japanese culture to the world.

8月28日、出光美術館にて美術鑑賞ツアーが開催されました。

イベントにはアウネ臨時代理大使や前ローマ日本文化会館館長である西林大使等、25名の参加者にお集まりいただきました。

アウネ臨時代理大使からは、美術の分野における出光美術館・出光興産の貢献など日諾文化交流についてのお話しを伺いました。出光美術館ではこれまでムンクの絵画展を開催したことが度々あり、出光興産はムンク美術館のリノベーション及び盗難されたムンクの「叫び」を回収することに貢献したそうです。

西林大使からは”日本文化を世界へ発信するのは政府だけでなく民間の力が非常に大切である”というスピーチをしていただきました。

During the viewing of the works, curator Yatsunami gave a detailed explanation of the characteristic patterns in Japanese art, and we were able to enjoy the charm of each piece in detail.

作品鑑賞の際は八波学芸員から日本美術における図柄の特徴的なものについて詳しい説明があり、作品一つひとつの魅力をじっくり堪能できました。

Also at this event, Mr. Yu Sato, NJS member and Vice President of Mitsui DM Sugar Holdings Co., Ltd. provided us with "Seiryu Sakuranomai," an environmentally friendly paper-packaged mineral water.

また今回のイベントでは、NJS会員でありDM三井製糖ホールディングス株式会社副社長の佐藤裕様より、環境にやさしい紙パックのミネラルウォーター「清流咲良之舞」を提供していただきました。
